The televised killings and brutality of countless young Black men here in America has left wounds in my heart and soul that my never heal. As an artist and humanitarian, I must speak out. I began creating work for the exhibit, Identity Theft in 2016. This exhibit is designed to be a catalyst that helps inform others of the distorted fragmentations in time that make-up world history. Who are we? Do you know where we come from? Do you know why we are here? Do we value our existence and the existence of humanity? We need to start telling and teaching the truth about history, not in a way that makes one's nation or civilization look greater than another but in a way that informs all people of the greatness and historical value of all nations, civilizations and ethnicities. The message of hate, racism, ignorance and bigotry has been taught to far too long and our world is suffering greatly today because of it. Identity Theft is my artistic interpretation of world history as I know it and the effect it plays in my life. If I don't create using the emotions I feel, I would be left creating nothing
