I came home to Texas and wanted something that didn't involve killing. One afternoon, I was mowing my parents' front yard when the music of the Ice Cream man's truck and the laughter of the children running to buy ice cream caught my attention. I went over to talk after he finished serving his last customer. I was looking for a less dangerous job. I mean how dangerous can selling ice cream be? He told me He needed some help. Three weeks on the job and I knew the business inside out. I asked him if he wanted to sell his business. He said NO, but he would introduce him to his loan shark that evening. We made a deal. I felt like things were starting to look up. I just didn't know how far up was.
