Ice Cold, Red Hot

By Delancey Stewart

On the ice, he's unstoppable. Off it, she's the only thing that can break him. A retelling of Grease, set on the ice

I play to win. On the ice. In life.

As captain of Coldwater's hockey team, my life is simple.
I skate. I hit. I score. I keep my head down and my fists ready.

Hockey is my ticket out. My family's name demands perfection, and the NHL is my future.
Distractions? I don't do those.

Until her.

Celeste Moreno. The girl who wrecked me with one perfect week last summer-and then vanished.
Now she's back.
Living down the hall. Teaching the class I'm stuck in.

She's forbidden-my TA, the one woman I can't touch without destroying everything I've worked for - and ruining her in the process.
So I try to ignore her.
Focus on hockey. On the draft. On the championship we're chasing.

But every time I see her, I lose my edge. And when another guy moves in on her? I lose my damn mind. One punch. One mistake. And now my whole career is on the line.

She was supposed to be a summer distraction.
But she's the only thing I want more than the game.
