I Want You to Know That I Actually Hate Poetry

Ah. I see you've picked up my book. I can only assume that you've done so because you, too, hate poetry.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but unfortunately... you've just picked up a book of poetry. Bummer, I know. Imagine how I feel, having written it.

Alas, I've written quite a bit of it over the course of a lot of years, and for some reason decided to bless your poor soul with the results. Not all poems here are finished. Not all of them make sense. (Not that poetry makes sense in general.) It really is a book of amateur poetry. But you know the feeling of pressure building? You know the feeling of release? That's how these were written. Because pressure built, and then released, and some of it is ugly, and some of it isn't finished, but some of it is... ugh... beautiful. I'll leave it in your unqualified hands to decide which is which.

So please enjoy, I guess. Inasmuch as anyone can enjoy poetry, at least.
