Touching, Giftworthy

I purchased this book to see if there was a picture of one of Harriet Powers' quilts. The title poem of this book is very touching - I enjoyed so many of the poems here. Thank you! And, yes, there was a Powers' quilt inside.

Wonderfully warm poems from the heart.

During a class for tutors in an adult literacy program, we were told to listen to a passage (read by the author). It was the first half of "Pretend". Tears came to my eyes and a smile to my heart as I heard the words "thanks to Allah and my wife and Dawud. . ."Later I read the rest of the book. It was the best part of my day.The poems are heart warming, sad, funny, sweet. Every verse full of color - full of life. They are about life and love and being human. They are poems for everyone. Al-hamdulillah.
