In 1988 Rosemary Kwenda and her five children joined her husband, Chirevo in the United States where he was furthering his education. Rosemary trained as a nurse and worked in several postings in Syracuse, New York and later Boston Massachusetts. In 2005 she graduated Bachelor of Social Science in Psychology at the University of Cape Town, South Africa where her husband lectured. In 2006 the family moved to Harare, Zimbabwe where they established a transport business with Rosemary as Operations and Finance Manager. I Survived is the story of the family's fortunes since leaving South Africa and being thrust into the eye of the storm of a crumbling Zimbabwean economy.
