Super read

I purchased this novel based on a friend's recommendation and was not disappointed. I agree with the first four reviewers that this novel combines action, suspense and romance such that both women and men can enjoy it. I was so mesmerized by this novel that I had to read the entire novel over a weekend. It appears that Mr. Kensilver Wordsmith's lone negative review is based on grammatical errors that can be found in the drug dealer's dialogue. It is obvious to me that the author emulated the speech pattern of ghetto drug dealers to mentally transport the reader to the scene of action. With a name like Mr. Wordsmith I would expect that he has never visited a ghetto. Otherwise he would not expect the drug dealers to speak like Shakespearean actors.

Something for Everyone

This is one of those rare novels to combine elements of action, suspense and romance so both men and women will enjoy it. The hero is easy to relate to and the author does a great job of running the reader through a range of emotions as the tension builds and you try to predict what comes next. It is fast-paced, hard to put down and the surprise ending does not disappoint. I'd love to see this adapted on the big screen.

Spell Binding

This book was fast reading and full of suspense, I read it in one night I just couldn't put it down. All the characters were believable and you got a glimpsed at the dangers and humanity of "El Barrio". Good job, looking forward to more novels from this talented author.

latino history in fictional formincredible

incredible and spectacular detail brings the reader close contact with a latino ghetto in New York...i dont think this has been done as well before....descriptive detail is so well done that you get a very painful picture of the ghetto... combined with plot and action makes this book an absorbing and unique book that will reward your intrest Richard C Fox Phd

a must read

James Rivers makes all the characters come to life, you want to read about the sequence of events in a non stop mode. The climax surprises the reader and leads to an incredible adventure. Great selection for a summer read. Silvia W.
