We all have the opportunity to see our lives and the life around us in a new way that can change everything forever. That is a poem. A poem is not simply words on a page. It is an opening to seeing our lives as we never have before.

I seem to be a tree.
My skin is a leaf,
turning.
My heart is a root
sliding, unnoticed,
under the grass.
My eyes are a bird
in twilight, perched
upon the peak.
