As attention getting as an ambulance siren

"I see You," is the tale of Dia Courvant, a paramedic dedicated to her work, and a widow who is still grieving over a husband four years' gone in an auto crash that claimed multiple lives. Brig Hafferty is a cop who's tracking a serial murderer--one who's setting bombs to cause wrecks. They meet at a devastating crash, about the time someone starts stalking Dia. The story is as fast-paced as an ambulance chase and truly hard to put down. Holly Lisle is great at fantasy, but her mystery is some of the most surprisingly compelling I've read.

Great book!

I SEE YOU is the third of Lisle's romantic suspense books. It returns to the setting of the first one, MIDNIGHT RAIN, and uses Brig as a main character rather than a secondary one. (On a side note, it's nice to hear even the tiny glimpses that are included about Alan and Phoebe, though for a moment I expected them to actually make an appearance.) The mystery and suspense element of the book is very strong, and one of the things Lisle's readers can rely on. She gives enough hints that a very, VERY astute reader could, theoretically, figure out the plot twists before the main characters do. Most readers, however (including yours truly) will figure out only enough hints to point them in the wrong direction. Instead of being annoying, however, this only serves to increase the tension. The romantic scenes in I SEE YOU are also well written. They flow realistically from the characters' personalities and situations rather than being there just to have sex scenes. In fact, all of the characters are fully developed, and their actions reflect their personalities in the non-romance scenes, also. I SEE YOU is less gory than its predecessors. The paranormal element is present, though I won't give away any details about it. In all, this is a very good addition to a set of highly recommended books.

words can't express how much I enjoyed this one!

Holly Lisle takes readers on a superb thrill ride with I SEE YOU. Dia Courvant is an EMT, focused on saving as many lives as her job necessitates. Unfortunately, one of the lives she saved is now stalking her and leaving her threatening messages. Detective Brig Hafferty is investigating a case involving a series of purposefully triggered car accidents and suddenly it seems that the two cases are related. Dia doesn't want a relationship with another adrenaline junkie. Four years ago, she responded to an accident scene only to see the remains of her beloved husband, Mac. Brig is still recovering from a divorce and has promised himself to remain free of any romantic entanglements. Neither expects nor wants the growing attraction between them. Meanwhile, Mac's ghost is leaving strange messages for Dia on the bathroom mirror and haunting her nightmares. Can Dia and Brig identify the deadly stalker before it's too late? I SEE YOU epitomizes what romantic suspense is supposed to be! The nonstop action coupled with well developed characters keep the reader turning the pages. Holly Lisle does a spectacular job at maintaining the tension level while a fantastic cast of secondary characters fleshes out the story. The eerie scenes involving the ghostly presence of Mac are guaranteed to keep the reader on the edge of her seat. Holly Lisle craftily plots an extremely clever approach to the ghost story as Dia and Brig must figure out which messages are from Mac and which are from her evil stalker. Dia and Brig's initial skepticism regarding any kind of ghostly presence helped make the story believable. I SEE YOU is a book that readers will not want to put down before reaching the conclusion. Be forewarned as you will stay up all night to see how Holly Lisle resolves the mystery behind Dia's stalker. I SEE YOU is a fantastic book that is highly recommended, particularly for fans of romantic suspense and the paranormal. COURTESY OF CK2S KWIPS AND KRITIQUES

WOW! WOW! WOW! and 5 stars too!!!!!!

This one caught me at first word and held me until the end. I could not put it down, the plot, the characters and the way it was written just grabbed me by the throat. I love a good romance in my suspense mystery thrillers, and this had everything I look for in a good read. Do not miss it, and I also recommend her other two books, MIDNIGHT RAIN, and LAST GIRL DANCING. Dia Courvant is an EMT, a paramedic who saves lives every day. But four yrs ago when she went to a tragic wreck she couldn't save her husband. She has dedicated the last 4 yrs to her work helping others and now she needs help. Brig Hafferty is a detective in Fort Lauderdale FL, he is investigating a series of wrecks caused by explosives. He meets Dia at a horrible pileup on I-95. Later he determines that his unsub is responsible and goes to talk to the paramedics who answered the call. Brig is divorced and not looking for anybody to hook up with, but Dia is very attractive to him. When strange gifts and notes appear on Dia's porch she calls him for advice. That's when they realize someone has erased all of his messages off her phone. Suddenly all the little things point to a stalker. Then her stalker turns into someone Brig wants to talk to about the wrecks. There is danger at every turn and now it seems her dead husband is leaving messages on her bathroom mirror like he used to. The tension in the story and in the romance is tight and we are drawn along on a taut string. Her stalker, her husband and her lover all want her, and even among her friends, who can she trust? Best Action, Suspense, Romance, Mystery, Thriller I have read this year.

great romantic suspense

Paramedic Dia Courvant is an adrenaline junkie who channels her need to live on the edge by saving lives in risky situations. When she and her team are called to a multi-car pile up with injures and death, she notices a police detective looking around the area. She finds his actions strange because the Highway Patrol usually works the highway accident scene in the Fort Lauderdale area. Detective Brig Hafferty is searching to see if an explosive device caused the lethal explosion because they were at the scene of similar incidents. He notices Dia but since his divorce he wants nothing to do with women; she feels the same way as a widow she does not need another adrenalin junkie ever since her spouse died in an accident in which a car crashed into an ambulance. Someone stalks Dia, sending her gifts and breaking into her home to leave messages on her mirrors. She asks Brig for help. Teaming up they learn that Sinclair Forbes, her late husband's best friend, drove the vehicle that killed him. Dia believes he deliberately killed her husband making her feel sick as she had saved Forbes' life. He is coming for her with Brigs vowing to keep the woman he now loves safe. Holly Lisle is a great romantic suspense writer who creates likable characters (Forbes aside) and places them in realistic yet stratospheric levels of conflict scenarios. There is plenty of action in I SEE YOU while the romantic subplot provides some relief from the tension. Using misdirection, false leads and red herrings, Ms. Lisle has her audience wondering how Forbes has easy access to the heroine's life. With all this going for it, this is obviously a one sitting read. Harriet Klausner
