"I Remember" is a warm, fun remembrance of growing up. It's a story of a gentler time when every day was a new adventure; when all a boy needed to make him happy was a dog, a bicycle, and a best friend with whom to explore the world. It was a time, as are all times of 'growing up', when life's major decisions were made by someone else, and someone else took care of you, loved you, and protected you from harm; when the time from one Christmas to another seemed forever, as did the time from one summer vacation to the next...and three months away from school was never enough. It was a time when church was a requirement, not an option, and you learned the Golden Rule before you learned your ABC's. But more than anything else, it was endless days of fun and play and occasionally 'getting in trouble,' although for some of us 'getting in trouble' seemed to happen more than occasionally. It is a time to be remembered...and reflected upon...and cherished...because it will not come again. However as long as it is kept in our memory, today is as yesterday. Once more we are kids, experiencing life at its best, feeling the warm sun on our backs and the cool breeze blowing in our faces, and believing that anything is possible if we set our minds to it. "I Remember" is written through the eyes and memories of a little boy (the author) who couldn't 'sit still,' couldn't stop asking 'why' or 'why not,' and whose curiosity often got him in trouble. "I Remember" is the second book by Chickamauga, GA mother and son writing team, Lamar and Mary Agnes Fine. Their first book, "Yesterday's Gone", has been a Regional Best Seller since its release in 1999.
