Louise shares life in poignant detail with loving care. Sadness, joy, triumph over extremely difficult trials, and positive family values fill this wonderful book. I enjoyed reading about the wonderful relationship she shares with her husband Larry who is an esophogeal cancer survivor and Vietnam Vet. I've met both and they are delightful people.

Louise Laughlin is funny, warm, loving and strong. Her book is about her husband who is a unique and loveable guy who has faced many hard times with courage and humor. The book combines this couple's voices and takes the reader through a slice of life from the 1950's to the present and allows him to imagine the world going forward. It is a cliché to say that a book makes you laugh and cry but there are no better words to describe this book. While celebrating the strength of a good marriage, it also explores the emotional and physical pain of dealing with the onslaught of esophageal cancer and the challenges that this deadly disease presents to a family. Louise is a new voice in the popular memoir market and I am proud to have been a part of her debut publishing journy. I loved her book and look forward eagerly to her next one. I can't imagine topping this one, but I admit, I am expecting great things!
