Isn't it true that the most profound is often best expressed simply? This is what is accomplished so beautifully in "I Met Him in My Overalls". After The Coleman family moved to Cowlick Farm, in bucolic Little Washington, North Carolina, there was much to be grown, nutured and harvested, other than the obvious. The author takes you to the places in her life that were tucked away, then disguised and even decorated, to please everyone but our Lord. I could not escape examing my own "Tidied up spots", and seeing my pathetic efforts to obtain affirmation from everyone, but the One that will really bring me peace and joy. This is not a book to be read in one sitting,or even two or three. It demands too much of you. It is also not for those that want to stay where they are and attempt to feel good about themselves.
