This elegant and enchanting story is a modern (and only slightly religious) version of the story of Adam and Eve and their offspring. Edward Le Comte has entered uncannily into the world of the First... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This is one to read and enjoy. The author's wonderful dry humor permeates each chapter...very quirky. This is a different view of the Bible Story, but all in all the author has done an excellent job of illustrating how family dynamics probably have not change a lot down through the years. If you can still find a copy of this one, I highly recommend. This work will surprise you as the author is a very, very good story teller.
A different approach to the beginning of life and the world

This book while having some slow spots, offers a unique perspective of the concept of Garden of Eden, and the first two people who walked there. This perspective is Eve's. She is alternately humerous and tragic, the author bequeaths her a sense of dry humor and sharp insights into the man who was created for her. Adam is not altogether a strong character in this book, and Eve is intelligent enough to recognize this although she also can not keep from loving him, or perhaps it is needing him. He causes her great pain with regard to their first two children, the infamous Cain and Abel and his inability to relinquish his failed past. Yes, Adam had a past! It is a tremendously unique book, and one that deserves, not only a complete reading but also a place on that bookshelf of well thumbed, dog eared, books that we take down from time to time and revisit.
