I Dare You to Eat It presents a manageable method for food storage that can be used during a time of need but that can also help to simplify everyday life. Instead of buying, storing, and then tossing... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Liesa Card approaches food storage in a practical, non-overwhelming way--making it easier for us to "apply it in our every-day lives." The idea is not just storing food for a rainy day, it's actually eating the stored food on a daily basis. Her instructions for "implementing your food storage plan" are excellent!
I'm well on my way

I'm not going to lie; I'm what you call "domestically challenged". On my list of homemaking skills- meal planning and cooking would be a tie for dead last. I know incorporating food storage into our every day meals is of great importance. And though I know I need to do it, trying to figure out the whole system makes me want to reach for my husband's inhaler. Liesa Card's humorous approach relaxed me. Page by page, my anxiety dispersed as I realized I could actually do this. Liesa and I are simpatico. We share the same love for cooking (read: lack there of). And yet, she's come up with a brilliant food storage system. The system is simple (thanks to Liesa doing the hard work), it satisfies taste buds AND provident living, and contains enough diagrams and pictures to satisfy us visual learners. Absolutely loved it! I'll be giving this book to friends for Christmas.

This is an excellent guide to calculate your food storage, organize it and integrate it into your everyday life. I would highly recommend this book to anyone (LDS or not) that would like to have the safety and security of having a supply of food in case of hard times. If you want to change your diet to one that is a little healthier but still fits your life, this is the book for you.
Every house should have this book!

What a great book! I've always found storing food for a rainy day kind of silly because we never actually ate it. We just moved it around and threw it out when it expired! It took up space and I hoped that we'd never have to rely on it because I didn't know what to do with it. Now I know. Liesa makes something so big and daunting be so manageable and kind of fun. Get the book, read it, implement it and feel secure knowing that if your income stopped tomorrow, you'd at least be able to put food on the table. Thanks Liesa for listening and following through and sharing what you discovered. Norine Pierson Salem, Oregon
Liesa Card really nails it in this book

For years the idea of a year's supply of food was mysterious and intimidating to me. What to buy? How much? Why buy it if I don't know how to cook it? Why cook it if my family won't eat it? I didn't know where to start so I occasionally bought some extra canned fruit and vegetables and a jumbo jar of peanut butter and called it food storage. It was better than nothing, but certainly didn't give me any peace of mind. Then "I Dare You to Eat It" came along. After reading this take on food storage, the mysteriousness of a year's supply vanished! I could visualize what a year's supply would look like for my family of five. Suddenly food storage is simple! This book also drastically shifted the way I think about food storage. I used to think that the point of food storage was to be prepared for a disaster. But Liesa Card presents an easy-to-incorporate system that actually prepares you for every day life. No more panicking at 5:00 about what's for dinner tonight because you've got all the ingredients you need for 20-30 meals right at your fingertips. The upside is that in the event of some large disaster you would have enough food for long term use. In the meantime, you will be more organized, save money, feel more in control, and eat healthier. I laugh at myself for not "getting it" before. Kudos to Ms. Card for putting it out here in a way that we simpletons can understand and not be intimidated by! I HIGHLY recommend this book. I also highly recommend her blog at idareyoutoeatit.com where she shares a lot more than just food storage tips.
