Some things we bury don't die. They grow teeth.
I Came Back With Teeth is a dark collection of poetry, prose, and spoken word about the pieces of ourselves we silence, starve, chain, and eventually must learn to face.
Beginning in the quiet isolation of a man who has learned that silence is often safer than being misunderstood, the collection descends through masculinity, anger, survival, instinct, decay, existentialism, and cosmic darkness before emerging somewhere unexpected-not healed, not purified, but whole.
Across six movements-The Silence, The Animal, The Rot, The Void, The Unmaking, and The Return-Chris Brack explores what happens when strength becomes a prison, when the parts of ourselves that once kept us alive become incompatible with ordinary life, and when we finally stop asking those parts to disappear.
There are animals in these pages.
There are gods.
There is rage, grief, madness, beauty, darkness, and the strange peace that can exist inside chaos.
But beneath all of them is a deeply human question:
What if the monster inside you was never trying to destroy you?
What if it was the part of you that refused to die?
I Came Back With Teeth does not offer easy healing or polished answers. It is a descent into the places we are taught not to look-and a reckoning with everything waiting there.
Because sometimes becoming whole isn't about returning to who you were before the world changed you.
Sometimes you return different.
Sometimes you come back with teeth.
