As children, we were conditioned by fairytales that told us Prince Charming would show up to rescue us. For many of us, Prince Charming never showed up. And I unknowingly, and unaware of the road ahead of me, was affected by his absence and was not ready for the damage it would cause.Through abuse and life as a single mother of four children, my lack of knowledge on life left me with resentment. I thought my life would be damaged; that was until Prince Charming finally showed up to me in the form of Jesus Christ and showed me how to speak life into myself and tofind my voice in this season. Nakia Moody, born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan, is an author, entrepreneur, and stylist who was raised to keep God first. Having suffered years from neglect and abuse, while also struggling with mental health issues, Nakia has found purpose in her life and faced trauma head on in order to get to where she is today.
