I Am In It: a collection of poems

I Am In It: a collection of poems captures Greg Orrē's first full immersion into writing poetry, with most of the work composed in May and June of 2018 during long walks by the South Saskatchewan River, small red notebook in hand. Published in chronological order, these poems trace the evolution of a creative awakening that bridges the gap between two key musical periods in Greg's life: the final songwriting for Too Soon Monsoon's Waves: We Provide What We Absorb, We Absorb What We Provide LP and the early formation of the I Am In It album trilogy. Fueled by poetry, nature, and spirit, these pieces reflect Greg's growing interest in Buddhist concepts, the writings of Aldous Huxley and Mary Oliver, and the wisdom of the seasons-how spring's thaw mirrors a reemergence of self. Interwoven with lyrics, sketches, and even illegible scribbles, the poems in this book became songs, paintings, and hand-painted clothing. The collection closes over a year later with two final reflections, written while driving away from the Rocky Mountains-a poetic full circle, flowing from the riverbanks to the peaks and back again.

Originally released in two handmade editions of 20 copies, I Am In It: a collection of poems is now available, raw and unchanged, for all to enjoy (besides a newly added epilogue written by B.T. Bolianatz in April 2025). This collection is where Greg was beginning to get in it. And now, you are in it too.

GREG ORRĒ (pronounced greg-ory) is a multidisciplinary artist exploring connections between nature, identity, and perception. He creates joy and lives with his family in Saskatoon near the South Saskatchewan River on Treaty 6 territory, the traditional lands of the Cree, Dene, Dakota, Lakota, Nakota, and Saulteaux peoples, and the homeland of the M tis. In addition to his solo work, Greg also performs and records with skins & bones garage-pop duo Too Soon Monsoon.
