Mako Children's Fund supports over 30 children by providing educational opportunities, mentorship, safe housing, clean water, nutritious food, love and compassion. In early 2023 we held poetry workshops in the boarding house, located in the rural Volta region of Ghana. The poems collected here were written in response to American, Ghanaian, and Nigerian poets. You will learn reading this book that these kids are just like any other kids you know- but they have stories beyond what many of us have experienced.
