Excellent author

I came across a book by this author while travelling in Ireland. His books are flowing and easy to read, which is not always the case with authors from other English speaking countries. Walter Macken writes novels based on history and makes the era come to life and the experiences of his characters give one a real feel for life at that specific time and place. This novel was about a young Irishman who moves to London before the war, and the trials and tribulations of a changing world. Excellent reading.
