In the last three decades, a new breed of Pentecostalism has emerged not only in Kenya, but also in Africa and, in fact, the rest of the world. This new breed has been designated by theologians and other scholars as 'modern Pentecostalism'. This is what I am addressing as 'Hyper-Pentecostalism' to distinguish it from the classical Pentecostalism and charismatic movements because of its excesses. In this article, I will seek to expose three malignant effects of Hyper-Pentecostalism in Kenya. I will also seek to propose the antidotes to mitigate further putrefaction with a view to seeing the church being revived and restored to its rightful place bringing glory and honour to God.
