Mary McFarlin Larson grew up as one of ten children of Gordon and Lila McFarlin. They lived in the Hungry Hills, outside of Montello Wisconsin. In 2022 she recorded some of her memories to share with family and the now-widely-scattered relatives. She wrote and illustrated one of her grandmother's stories about the Little Lame Squirrel. Her mother, Lila, had also written down some of her memories of years past, in two collections. All of these stories are gathered in this book. Lila was big on vitamin supplements, and had a list of herbal remedies for common ailments. That document is also here. Mary's cousin, Don Hall, was a great researcher of genealogy. Some of his research can be found at the end. The task of putting it all together fell to your editor, Joe Larson.
