As someone with the rare and special privilege of knowing Calvin Miller as both a professor and as a friend, I feel as if I could write this review for almost every book he has written. For what you read in his books, tells the true story of the man. He is talented, humble and genuine in his search to serve and magnify the glory of God. This book touched me on a personal level because the clarion call for Christians to develop a thinking mind along with the Christian mind is a message we must hear and heed. What Mark Noll failed to accomplish in "The Scandal of the Evangelical Mind," Calvin Miller accomplishes in "A Hunger for Meaning." For as Dr. Miller exemplifies in his life, how else can we reach the world for Jesus if we abandon the world to its own sinfulness? Amy Downey
