HUMAN TRAFFICKERS by Joe Ike is a high tech thriller that examines the humantrade industry. Ike builds a story that is easy to visualize on the smallscreen. The characters and the plot read smoothly and provide technicalintrigue rivaling the T.V. shows, CSI and Law and Order.The story opens with an illegal alien falling to her death while trying tocross the U.S. and Mexican border. This single event sets into motion amassive investigation that uncovers an alien smuggling ring that is astechnologically adept as the U.S. Immigration Bureau. This provides achallenge for agents who always seem to be one step behind the smugglers.Swirled in this mix are ample arrays of characters who are involved in humantrafficking for all sorts of reasons. This novel tackles many human rights issues including the illegal smuggling ofwomen for prostitution, sexual harassment, fraud, and internet dating. Theonly drawback is there are so many characters that at times it's hard tokeep up with the flow of the story. However, to Ike's credit, he ties thenovel up nicely all the while making a statement about the quality of life.HUMAN TRAFFICKERS is a solid book that screams screenplay. Human Traffickers is a disturbing look into the lives of woman and young girls who are trafficked across international borders. These are a few of their stories. Lured with the promises of a good life, good jobs that never happen they find themselves forced to work off a debt they can never repay.The story shows just how smart traffickers can be and how the use of modern technology such as computers has helped them lure women.The story is about a website MateFinda.com, that is used to traffic women.In the story one woman plunges to her death from a crane type of machinery used to lift her across the border without tripping the alarms. A group of young girls find out that it isn't just a massage parlor they are going to be working at. One woman thinks she has met the man of her dreams onlineonly to find herself held captive by him. One woman who works for MateFinda.com finds herself sexual harassed by her boss when he discovers that her legal papers are not in order and he uses it against her until she finds out that MateFinda.com is one of the sources using the INTERNET to traffic women.When she discovers the e-mail from the woman being held captive she gathers the proof necessary to bring MateFinda.com down. These women are all connected through out the story. Millions of women and young girls are trafficked each year from impoverished countries that offer them nothing. Only to be lured by sponsors who offer them a good life but find themselves working as slaves. Human Traffickers is disturbing!.You'll find yourself praying out loud for these women. A horror story that must be told, thanks, Joe Ike!

Every year, 700,000 women and children are smuggled across international borders by slave rings. Human trafficking. Call it what you like, but women and children, primarily, are lured by stories of good jobs or husbands by these crooks and end up in prostitution and slavery. This reads like stories of "white slavery" in the Nineteenth Century but it's going on todayThe book is written from the viewpoint of several of the victims. It reads like a thriller, and it's very touching. I couldn't put it down. You'll be writing your congressman after reading this, asking what can be done to remedy this human tragedy. Can you believe slavery still exists in this country? No? Then read this.
