Human Rights in Latin America

Latin America is a region where its countries have many aspects in common, one of these being its historical background marked by colonialism, thus, throughout the region there was an exploitation of its territory and its native people, occurring even a high violation of human rights in the form of indigenous genocide. The hegemonic thought was assembled to treat the natives of America as irrational, giving them the quality of inferior, affirming that they belonged to an inferior race and such thought was the legitimizer of colonization and the formation of the "world-system" where Europe is the center and the other countries its periphery.
