A Word About This Work

Human Rights has been a current theme in the contemporary world, and are being treated and studies all over world as an independent and full fledged discipline. However, no work of significance has been done on the Human Right in Islam, which I have ventured to undertake under the supervision of my supervisor Prof. Mohd. Mujtaba Khan, Head Department of Political Science, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.

The people of the west take it to their credit that the concept of Human rights was their contribution to the world, these claims of the west can be refuted, for the religion of the east made the earliest contributions in this regard. And Islam was the only first religion to have given a complete and comprehensive charter of Human Rights, the Holy Quran, to the mankind.

This research work is a modest attempt towards clearing misconceptions that there is no doctrine of human rights in Islamic jurisprudence. Considering Islam as a faith only, would be attributing to it a very a narrow definition as Islam is a way of life dealing with society, economics and politics.

It had been my effort to bring out all these tenets of Islam in this work.
