These proceedings highlight the key findings and recommendations of the conference which provided a forum for information exchange on national and international policies and practices. Conference participants had a broad range of expertise across the areas of capacity building, human resource development, education and training, knowledge management and knowledge networks for nuclear power programmes. With a focus on future challenges, the participants reviewed the current state of human resource development in the nuclear field (including nuclear education and training) and provided practical solutions that can be used at organizational, national and international levels to develop and maintain the human resources needed to support the safe and sustainable operation of nuclear power programmes. The main ideas and messages expressed and discussed at the conference are presented in the opening addresses, the session summaries and the President's summary.
