Read this when I was a kid and got it for mine

I remembered loving this book when I was a kid. I got it for mine although he is a bit young still. The book deals a bit with death and dying so make sure you have covered that with your child. It is also about doing things on your own and taking care of yourself. Oh, it is also about not trusting grownups so watch out. This book is no longer in print so I bought a used one.
