We all must cope with temporary deficiencies as we grow up
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 16 years ago
Hue Boy is an otherwise healthy boy that has seemingly stopped growing. The village doctor pronounces him fit and he eats hearty, but he still looks like he is standing in a hole. Hue Boy is frustrated when the other children tease him about his height and his Gran makes him some new clothes with slack in them so he will have room to grow. Unfortunately, nothing seems to work and he is growing increasingly frustrated. However, when a big ship comes to the harbor and his sailor father greets Hue Boy, they join hands and walk together back to the village. At this point, Hue Boy walked tall and proud past all the people in the village. This is an excellent book for children as they learn to cope with what are fortunately for most of them temporary deficiencies. Hue Boy learns that you are as tall as you feel and as tall as you need to be as you grow up and prepare for life.
