Flesch's methods make *any* writing simple, understandable, and direct

Along with "The Minto Pyramid Principle," this book will change how you write. The subtitle says it's "A Handbook for Lawyers," but it's really a handbook for all writing. The book uses its own principles; it's short. You can read it in a couple of hours. Flesch shows passages of legalese, then rewrites each passage using the rules he lays out. The examples make it easy to learn the concepts quickly. This book will teach you to write so you can make your ideas easy-to-understand for virtually everyone.

The best book on consumer drafting.

If you write legal documents for a nonlegal audience, you must have this book. It is written the way legal documents for consumers ought to be written: clearly, precisely, and succinctly. And it will teach you how to do it. The techniques and insights it offers are golden.

The good old treasure

The one and only book I came across, which gives a good insight into the technique of accurate and precise writing.
