I am new owner of vintage southbound 9a lathe, I have just purchased and gave through cleaning and have begun to operate as a new hobby machinists. This book is plagiarism of available material found on internet and offers very rudimentary descriptions and how to. Repeat of safe recommendations and some are actually counter to best practices found elsewhere. I do have a very older version of the how to run a lathe by south bend. I strongly recommend fining this book, it is the most original form and it provides orders of magnitude how to and great info on lathe operations compared to this new book. I wasted my money on this book.
