Just what I was looking for!

Although this book was published in 1977 it answered all my questions about which route to take to get designs and product ideas out in the world. It addresses the pros and cons of licensing for royalties vs running your own business. (how to get a product manufactured, self distribution, etc.) It has lots of good, usable ideas, suggestions, and advice from how to generate ideas to how to sell a business, and everything in between. Don Kracke writes about his own experiences- what he learned, what he regretted. This is an extremely readable book, written with honesty and humor in a personal, anecdotal style. I would highly recommend this to anyone with an entrepreneurial spirit or an inventive mind. It's a must have! (Though I am eager to check out Mr. Kracke's new book due out in Oct. 2001, it may replace this one.)
