How to get the Most out of God's Word

Very down to earth, chocked full of good, practical and doable ideas on getting the most out of God's Word. Ideal for new Believers who need guidence in studying the Bible, so they can understand the importance of having a lifelong relationship with the Lord. Would also be very helpful to those who have spent many years in Bible study by giving new insight and a fresh perspective on God's Word. Though the title is humorous and the book is enjoyable, it is also serious in making the reader understand how unique and special the Bible is. Brother Cysa makes it clear that the Bible needs to be used as an "Owners Manual" to help each person with their walk with the Lord and to keep from making a mess of their lives. A fast read, but thought provoking!

A Very Worthy Resource

I read this book in manuscript form and believed it would be helpful to a lot of people, especially those who read the Bible and, for reasons that I find unfathomable, come away with all sorts of strange ideas about what it says. A few days ago, I read the published book and am even more convinced that this succinct and power-packed resource should be read by everyone even remotely interested in understanding scripture. Its author writes in an easy-to-understand style, and along the way includes all sorts of examples of sloppy and uninformed reasoning that he's observed over the years. If you think in terms of value--defined as benefits minus costs--the slim price of this volume is far outweighed by its considerable benefits, and it is therefore of great value.

well worth the reading time

My headline is from the testimonial on the book back cover by a Fuller Seminary prof. The book has 100+ pages. It is written in a compact, high information density style. It is highly organized with many section and paragraph headings which make it easy to read and understand. The two main chapters give valid and invalid analysis methods with examples. It is highly organized with many section and paragraph headings which make it easy to read and understand. There is a chapter on study tools that are free or low cost, such as the e-sword computer program, and one giving examples of how to use these tools. I understand that the author is writing a student exercise booklet and a teacher's guide for group use. It will be available free to churches, home Bible studies, and schools.
