Helped me get straight A's

I came across "How to Pass Exams" as I was going back to school to study Aerospace Engineering after a 3 & 1/2 year break. I used it to help me go from knowing nothing about engineering, to getting the top grades in every class. He discusses how to take effective notes, listen well, plan study schedules, and so forth right on down to how to handle various types of exams.Now a few years on, I would use this book along with either "Make the Most of Your Mind" or "Use Both Sides of Your Brain" both by Tony Buzan. Both books discuss how to improve your reading speed, notetaking, and memory by using mindmaps and other tools. With all of these together you will be better prepared than any other to handle the challenges of full-time study.
