How to Love the Bible: Removing Barriers That Keep You from Meeting God in Scripture

By Kristin Nave

We want to love the Bible. We believe it matters. So why does time in Scripture sometimes feel confusing, discouraging, or strangely distant? The problem isn't your discipline or desire--it's the hidden barriers no one taught you to name.

You're not just studying the Bible--you're building a relationship with the God of the Bible. And when that relationship feels strained, distracted, or guarded, Scripture can feel hard to engage.

It's often the quiet buildup of emotional wounds, unanswered prayers, intellectual doubts, or relational hurt. It could be spiritual fatigue, distraction, or the pressure to "do Bible study right." Over time, what was meant to be life-giving can begin to feel heavy, frustrating, or guilt-laden.

Kristin Nave--a trusted Bible teacher with deep theological training and insight--invites you to discover what's really getting in the way of meeting with God in His Word. The first half of this book helps you identify and remove unseen barriers that shape how you approach Scripture. The second half offers practical, accessible study tools--through the lens of relationship, not performance.

God is not intimidated by your questions or weariness, and He isn't asking for forced or performative study. Think less striving, more honesty. Less I'm failing spiritually, more I'm coming as I am.

Come to Scripture not just for answers, but for relationship--and discover a more meaningful, sustaining experience with the God who meets you there.
