The power of civil society, in terms of its influence on world politics, is today tending to overturn the great principles that have been elevated to the rank of dogma in politics and international law, such as the absolute sovereignty of the State. While in the countries of the North, this notion, which rhymes strongly with democracy, enjoys almost absolute recognition by States, in Africa, and particularly in C te d'Ivoire, it's worth taking a look at the lives of these new players who are trying to make their way in a space where debates are highly politicized. The CSO "springtime" that took place during the multiparty era in the 90s made a major contribution to the emergence of a more diversified civil society in the country. Unfortunately, this dynamic seems to have stalled, despite the fact that CSOs are expected to play an active role in the country's democratic balance.
