Getting a job is an art. It requires vision, preparation, planning and research. Some do not really know what they want. They see superintendents having big salaries and figure that is what they want. My advice is never go for a job because of the money. You will end up disappointed and dissatisfied. Instead, identify your passion and what you really love to do and then make that your goal. This is my 46th year in education. Over the years I have read hundreds of resumes and letters of application and interviewed many individuals. I am always surprised to receive and read badly constructed resumes and ill written letters of application. Sometimes people just want to be cute and they do not realize that their paperwork is going to be looked at for less than 5 minutes and if not compelling, it is going to go into the trash. This manual will keep your resume out of the trash and your career path always moving forward.
