You can always tell a book by its introduction

Covers may not tell a lot about a book, but whom and what strikes an author's heart does. Great writing starts with the impact on a writer's life. Mr. Guha cleary demonstrates that he truly recognizes that so much of the "steet smarts" he advocates as important to personal and professional success came from the people who took interest in him, prompting him to take interest in others. He also gives his readers a clear vision on how to create the pathway to personal satisfaction and success without without resorting to stepping on, or walking over others along the same pathway - a refreshing insight in the current world of dog-eat-dog, and winning no matter the type of ethics (or lack of) it takes.

An invaluable tool and a captivating read

I found this book to be a fascinating read which demonstrates a variety of in-depth experiences in both business and in life. Most importantly, this book is actionable, in that the author teaches approaches and behaviors which should assist both junior and senior executives in achieving personal and professional goals. The author's experiences and writing style (balancing humorous anecdotes with unsentimental portraits of life within the corporate structure), fascinated me and provided the catalyst needed to take that first step toward launching my own business. I was well and truly inspired! This is a MUST read.
Brilliant synthesis and insight

The author has clearly done a great deal of research and hard work. However, the real value of the book lies in the conclusions he draws from the extensive high-level experience he has in multiple industries and cultures. This is an insightful and though provoking book which belongs on the bookshelf of anyone who wants to prosper in life, particularly in any organization. His explanation of the often noted fact that jerks seem to to prosper is alone worth the price of the book. His advice about working with people is invaluable. In all, this is a book which is destined to be a classic.
