Before there was Ernest, there was Hollis.

An entrepreneurial group of city commissioners is close to being exposed. To hide their tracks, they buy an old computer and dismiss anyone smart enough to spot their theft from city funds. Also, just in case they get caught, they need a scapegoat. Yep, it was easy to pick a Fig. An interesting surprise occurs when Hollis (Don Knotts) visits his new secretary’s (Yvonne Craig) apartment and asks how she can afford it on her salary. The answer is Blue-chip Stamps. I used to save them as a kid. There are many great recognizable actors in this film, too many to mention individually. However, I would be remiss if I didn't mention Edward Andrews; he plays the second-in-command, Mayor Robert Chisholm. Previously, we remember him from films like The Glass Bottom Boat (1966) and The Brass Bottle (1964).
