"How to Discover What Really Matters," is a devotional study of the principles life teaches to help us embrace maturity. Its purpose is to aid Christians in their discovery of God's purpose for their life. It is designed to restore your priority in living a fundamentally mature Christian life.In this devotional study, we will examine the scripture passage Jesus read at the synagogue, Luke 4:18-19. Jesus had begun His ministry and performed many miracles. On the Sabbath, He went to his boyhood synagogue. The invitation to read was extended to Him. At the end of His reading, He announced, "Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your ears." Imagine the amazement of the teachers, scribes, and congregation. Jesus grew up with them, now He was declaring Himself to be their Messiah. Their initial reaction was to reject Him and His claim.
