Great ideas for Bible teachers

This book by Dr. Elmer Towns of Liberty University is an excellent resource for Bible teachers. I wish I had discovered it before I started teaching the Bible seriously. I will refer to it often now.

You Can Teach the Bible so that Group Members Learn!

This easy to read book is filled with many practical suggestions on how to prepare a variety of Bible Studies. Elmer Towns does a wonderful job in teaching principles. The examples of Bible studies followed by a step-by-step outline in how to prepare a study are tremendous helps! The emphasis is on not just lecturing on a certain passage or theme rather on how to get the group memebers to read, understand and learn from the text being read! As a professor in a Bible Institute here in Peru I have used and will continue to use many of the principles in this book both personally to prepare studies and in courses on how to study and teach the Bible. A wonderful companion to this book is the video series by Elmer Towns which is based upon this book. If you are looking for help, ideas and wonderful suggestions on how to teach the Bible in a way that the group members will really learn and be involved in the study...read this book! The only problem...when you finish you will want to learn more about preparing and teaching Bible studies!
