A book about church branding for people who can't bring themselves to use the word "branding"

I love this classic book and recommend you get it! It is a practical helpful book about church branding though the word "branding" is not used. This book teaches great concepts about church messaging and getting your message outside the walls of your church. All while presenting in a way ministers understand and can relate to. One problem with church marketing books of late it they over do it, in my opinion, in "baptizing" secular marketing concepts. Most ministry marketing books seem to come from marketers who have discovered ministry. This book comes more from a perspective of ministers who discovered marketing. I prefer the later because product marketing has very little do with ministry marketing. What we need are more ministry people who are willing to update their communication skills in the area of marketing. This book does that well!

Useful Book on Church Imagery and Communication

John David Webb presents an excellent overview of how images and communications processes play a major role in either enabling or disabling a congregation. That is to say, that symbols create symbol systems which create a communication story. The positive or negative nature of these symbol systems and these commication stories plays a defining role in a congregation's ability to thrive, regardless of external conditions. A very useful book for persons seeking to help their congregation become missionally effective.
