The printed word, the Bible, is the means by which God has chosen to communicate with mankind. His inspired and unalterable words are designed to have us understand His sovereignty. Unfortunately, although the Bible has been a #1 seller, it has not been a #1 read. Very, very often the Bible lies in dust; yet it is the very means by which mankind can receive salvation. Authors such as Ralph Hornberger can't help but feel that there is need to augment the scriptures, hopefully to more clearly "get across" the good news of salvation. At 94 years of age Mr. Hornberger has lived long enough to have heard many religious arguments given by those who have not chosen to regard eternity. Eternity is too fathomless to comprehend, and as such is disregarded. His writing is intended to awaken his readers to reality.
