In the dying town of Everglen, where the closed mill has left families starving and the Mayor has officially canceled Christmas, eight-year-old Klara discovers a broken wooden soldier outside the shuttered Hoffmann's Toys shop. Working in secret, the children must scavenge materials, recruit believers, and evade suspicious adults who view their efforts as foolish fantasy. With help from unexpected allies and the guidance of a despairing Hoffmann himself, they pour their hearts into creating something beautiful from broken pieces. However, with only days remaining and an entire town's lost hope pressing down on them, the children must prove that magic is real, hope is possible, and that sometimes the smallest hands can carry the heaviest dreams.
