Carter is a little boy who just wants to be accepted by his friends and peers. Though born with a deformity, Carter begins to believe in himself and discovers that maybe being different isn't so bad. After living with a deformity which had before caused him so much shame, Carter gains new confidence as he singlehandedly changes his own destiny. Never in his wildest dreams had Carter expected that his one embarrassing flaw would make him the town's hero.
When I was young, I loved to dream. My favorite saying was, "What If?" I was a dreamer I wish I knew as a child what I know now about the power of coloring outside of the lines. This book expresses a tiny glimpse of the inner child resurfacing to tell a "What If" story and bring it to life. There is power in forming mental images of the unknown and I believe inside of each of us is an imagination waiting to be reborn. My intent as you journey through this book with your little ones is to create a space that they can relate to and allow their minds to explore the "What If". My hope for you as an adult is to spark your inner child to dream and explore the unchartered waters of creative thinking. I would like to say a special thank you to my children: Ronn, Dannielle, Pebble and Mariah as well as my two grandchildren Melody and Carter for being my inspiration.
