At one point around 1970 the bald eagle population in New York State had dwindled down to one nesting pair. Today, thanks to human action the population has rebounded all over the country, and daily sightings are common on many of the finger lakes of central New York. This book is written for adults and children and teaches its audience about the life cycle of the American Bald Eagle. The story is told by Sprout who is quite possibly the only vegetarian eagle in the world. He takes us through the history of his parents first meeting to their becoming nesting partners, and parents on a hillside overlooking a beautiful lake in central New York.
