At one point around 1970 the resident bald eagle population in Missouri had dwindled down to nothing. Today, thanks to human action, the population has rebounded all over the country, and daily sightings are common along the waterways and lakes of Missouri and its border states. This book is written for adults and children and teaches its audience about the life cycle of the American Bald Eagle. The story is told by a young adult bald eagle named Sprout. He takes us through the history of his parents first meeting to their becoming nesting partners somewhere near the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi rivers.
