How specific is the disagreement?

In recent years a lively discussion has sprung from philosophers thinking about disagreement. The question most directly discussed in the epistemology of disagreement is: what should I rationally believe when I learn that someone disagrees with me? In what follows I will explain why disagreement has become an area of interest to philosophers. I will then canvass some of the issues discussed within the debate before then mentioning some of the areas which I think deserve further investigation.
