How I Raised 4 Successful Black Sons

Many people in my circle from family to friends have observed me as a young father and bore witness to the successes and triumphs in my sons' lives. While these triumphs have not been without their fair share of pitfalls and setbacks, the success has been resounding inside and outside of my circles. In a day and time where young black men are considered "at-risk" in every arena in this country, between the violence and high murder rate of young black men in urban areas, the disproportionately high rate of incarceration for them, as well as the fatherlessness that in turn perpetuates a lengthy cycle of hopelessness and despair from generation to generation, I am proud to be an example for black fatherhood to so many. Even with a blended family, I am proud that despite the pitfalls I have experienced as a father of black men, I can now see the fruits of my labor and can be seen as a positive example of how to manifest success with my own black sons.
