This debut novel is a well written story almost every family or the black community could relate too. Some people steal out of necessity as a way for survival, others steal just to support their drug habits or any other habits they acquired. Most of the time, we refer to these individuals as boosters coming through the neighborhood selling everything they've stolen from the stores. This debut novel is regarding a young girl name Brandy who has gotten herself into a whirlwind of trouble. Throughout the years she has developed a bad addiction to stealing. But, the very judge she has stood in front of numerous times in court for stealing is now trying to blackmail her into his illegal business of a secret society for call-girls. The one person Brandy could always depend on is her cousin King. The only problem is King is dealing with a strong addiction of his own. His sexual addiction may cause him to lose his longtime girlfriend Trice. After she is unable to take anymore of his cheating ways, Trice takes their son and skip town. Now, King finds himself in a situation of trying to rescue Brandy and himself. The only question is, how can these two get over the addictions that have set a dangerous path.
