Nothing can go faster than the speed of light, and outer space is REALLY big. So humans could never go to another planet - or so they thought! A secret Institute is set up to change that. It employs brilliant scientists working on instantaneous space travel using mini black holes and quantum entanglement under the tutelage of its Director, who for unexplained reasons always keeps them on a successful track. Five young friends and a mysterious lady get sent out just before the military takes charge of the project. They end up on a planet, called Hovland. It resembles an early Earth with primitive life confined to water. They discover the planet is a way-station with some incredible alien artifacts. The alien chemistry and constant meteor showers on Hovland eventually make it necessary for the young travelers to go home quick - but how, and who will believe them when they return?
